Duncan Kaye & Alan Pollock

Grosvenor Carpets were formed on July 1st 1992.  Duncan Kaye, Managing Director, Duncan Kaye formed the company as a commercial and contract business supplying and fitting hotels, offices, restaurants, pubs, schools, hospitals and retail outlets.

After six months co-director Alan Pollock joined
Duncan and they swiftly acquired a reputation for flair and design together with a quality service.



They continue to win prestigious contracts for projects such as Planet Hollywood, The Time Out building, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Monsoon and Gala Bingo on a national level and The Bournemouth Oceanarium, Portman Building Society, The Slug and Lettuce, Pizza Express, Toby Inns, Café Shore and Penn Central locally. These projects are just a few of the massive portfolio that Grosvenor Carpets have acuminated. They also supplied and fitted numerous Sega centres on a national basis, which featured their own design based on the 'Sonic the Hedgehog' character.

With the commercial side growing from strength to strength, they noticed a need for a quality retail outlet, which could offer the same level of high service at the competitive prices, which seemed to be sadly lacking in the area.

In October 1995 they opened their Westbourne showroom and recruited a trained carpet fitter Joe Etches to manage it. His all round product knowledge and courteous attention to detail has been instrumental to the shop's success. Joe is now the Company's Sales Director.

With the success of Westbourne, they opened their Ferndown showroom in October 1999. Everyone who visits the Ferndown showroom comments on its superlative display of carpets flooring and rugs offering a myriad of choice, colour and variety. One customer commented that the showroom wouldn't look out of place alongside Harrods in Knightsbridge.

Duncan Kaye firmly believes that Grosvenor Carpets have been so successful because of a few vital promises and guarantees.

No Gimmicks

We do not offer interest free credit, free for a year, or any other free free free offers. We nn and simply guarantee extremely competitive prices 12 months a year.

No Unrealistic Discounts

We do not offer 30, 40, 50% discounts, as some of the larger stores seem to advertise. Surely if we were able to offer such discounts the product must have been overpriced originally.

Not Cutting Corners

Cutting corners is not the Grosvenor way. Only the best quality and service is good enough for our customers. All of our fitting teams are hand picked craftsmen who are polite and obliging. They are paid on satisfactory results and NOT performance rates.

No Pressure Selling

We have a measuring and estimating service that is second to none and available seven days a week. All our detailed quotations are confirmed in writing with no hidden extras so that our customers have time to think things over in their own time with no salesman standing over them adding extra pressure.

Selection and Price

Grosvenor Carpets are active members of The Contract Flooring Association and The Carpet First Buying Group. They are the areas only approved Brintons Platinum Dealer. They deal with all British and Europe's leading manufacturers including all wood and laminate suppliers, Amtico and Karndean. They are dedicated to supplying and installing all floor covering to a very high standard at extremely competitive prices.

The Present and Future

In a constant effort to improve our service, we send out random questionnaires to completed installations and monitor the replies very carefully. The majority of the replies are very favourable. It does give us the opportunity to act on the few less favourable replies and with this sort of feedback it has enabled us to identify our faults and iron them out.
